In mathematics, an infinite series of numbers is said to converge absolutely (or to be absolutely convergent) if the sum of the absolute values of the summands is finite. "Absolute convergence" means a series will converge even when you take the absolute value of each term.
According to some authors, the error is x – x / for example, when 1.9 is used as an approximation for 1.875, the error equals –0.025. Others define the error to be x – x. Whichever of these definitions is used, the error can be positive or negative. Yet other authors define the error to be |x– x|, the difference between the true value and the approximation, in which case the error is always greater than or equal to zero. When contrasted with *relative error, the error may be called the absolute error.
For any real number a, the absolute value (also called the *modulus) of a, denoted by
|a|, is a itself if a ≥ 0, and −a if a ≤ 0. Thus
|a| is positive except when a = 0.
Acceleration is a vector quantity that is defined as the rate at which an object changes its velocity. An object is accelerating if it is changing its velocity.
The resistance to motion experienced by an object moving through the air caused by the flow of air over the surface of the object. It is a force that affects, for example, the speed
of a drop of rain or of a parachutist falling towards the earth’s surface.
In its most general form, algebra is the study of mathematical symbols and the rules for manipulating these symbols , algebra is the study of generalizations of arithmetic
operations.
Algebraic manipulation refers to the manipulation of algebraic expressions, often
into a simpler form or a form which is more easily handled and dealt with.
An algorithm is a step-by-step procedure or set of rules designed to solve a specific problem or perform a particular computation. It is a well-defined sequence åof instructions that, when executed, leads
to the desired outcome or solution.
Two angles, formed when a line crosses two other lines, that lie on opposite sides of the transversal line and on opposite relative sides of the other lines
A series in which the sign alternates between positive and negative. So any series in the form an = (−1)npn or
(−1)n−1pn where all pn > 0 is alternating.
In plane geometry, an angle is the figure formed by two rays, called the sides of the angle, sharing a common endpoint, called the vertex of the angle.
