This community belongs to the baTlhaping tribe of the greater Tswana nation. It is located about 35 km east of Kuruman. In 1963, Daniel Molema was the headman of this area; he was born in 1912 (PL Breutz, The Tribes of the Districts of Kuruman and Postmasburg, 1963, p. 184). Molema was accountable to Chief The Reserve has two communities, one at Metswetsaneng and one at Bothetheletsa. The villages share the grazing communally.
