  A statement from the sponsor setting out objectives and background to the case in sufficient detail to enable the researcher to plan and appropriate study.  As a general rule, a market research study is only as good as the brief itself.

  Using more than one kind of method to study a phenomenon

  The specific procedures or techniques used to identify, select, process and analyse information about a topic.
